  1. How will I get my gas fire installed?
Our fire experts here at www.inspiredfires.co.uk recommend that your new gas fire is fitted by a Corgi registered installer, you can find a local engineer on the Corgi website http://www.trustcorgi.com/findinstaller/FindanInstaller.htmx - IMPORTANT – Gas fires can not be installed by the buyer, they MUST be installed by a Corgi member. For more information contact our customer service team by phone or e-mail, these details can be found on our home page.
  2. What type of gas fire can I have in my home?
The type of chimney or flue you have will dictate the range of fires suitable for your home. The technical information section illustrates the flue requirements for each fire. For further information on flue types please click here.
  3. How do I know which fire is compatible with my chimney flue?
We have options within our ‘Search’ facility which will indicate all fires available to you from your choice of flue type.
  4. I haven’t got a chimney or a flue – can I still have a gas fire?
Don’t worry - you still have a wide range of gas fires to choose from: Balanced Flue fires are glass fronted and need to be fitted to an outside wall – the fires can be wall mounted or fitted to a fireplace. Fan-flue or Power flue fires offer the beauty of an open fronted fire with “real” flames without the need for a chimney or flue – these units are supplied complete for installation to a suitable outside wall – an electrical supply is required with these types of gas fire. Catalytic or Flueless fires do not require any chimney or flue or even an outside wall – these fires use the latest in gas fire technology and can be installed virtually anywhere – the combustion gases produced by the fire pass through a catalytic converter within the appliance which converts the poisonous Carbon Monoxide into harmless Carbon Dioxide and water vapour.
  5. I don’t understand flueless fires and stoves - are they safe?
Yes, flueless fires incorporate a catalytic converter that converts the poisonous gases into harmless carbon dioxide and water vapour. This results in an appliance which is 100% efficient. Because of this amazing efficiency the energy input to the fire is dramatically reduced, resulting in lower running costs. Flueless appliances require nothing more than a gas supply, together with a minimum sized room (30 cubic metres or approximately 12’ x 12’
  6. I don’t have a mains gas supply to my house but I would prefer a real flame fire, what do you recommend?
Relax! Our staff here at www.inspiredfires.co.uk have taken the time to include fires that have an option of L.P.G. gas so you still enjoy that real flame fire effect.
  7. I have difficulties bending down, which fires would most suit my needs?
Most of our fires here at www.inspiredfires.co.uk have a choice of controls such as Slide Control, Remote Control and Wall Switches.
  8. Do any of the gas fires fit onto existing back boilers?
No. Due to the ever decreasing market for gas fired back boilers and the limited range of available fire fronts – we no longer supply replacement fire fronts for back boiler units.
  9. Are Stoves available in different sizes?
Stoves are available in a wide range of styles and sizes to suit your home.
  10. What about Electric Fires?
Electric fires have changed dramatically since the days of the wall mounted 2-element fire. Today’s electric fires are available in a variety of styles to suit every home. Available to fit into a traditional fireplace, with a spacer frame against a flat wall or even “hole-in-the-wall” for that contemporary look.
  11. When will my new fire be delivered to me?
We will contact you via email to arrange a delivery date and time that suits you.
